Opening Bell – Nifty, Sensex open higher; Infosys trades lower

The BSE Sensex opened higher by 85 points at 31,609, while the Nifty50 opened higher by 27 points at 9,864 mark.

IOC is top Nifty gainer trading at Rs 436.7 per share, up by 2.19% whereas Infosys is top Nifty loser trading at Rs 907 per share, down by 1.76%. There are 925 advances, 404 declines and 478 unchanged stocks on NSE reflecting fairly positive sentiments floating in the market.

On the broader markets, BSE Mid-cap index was trading at 15,261 level, up by 0.35% while BSE Small-cap index was trading at 15,670 level, up by 0.34%.

Nifty50 has immediate support placed around the 9,770 level and the next support is placed around the level of 9,700. On the upside, the level of 9,860 will act as an immediate resistance, while the next resistance is seen around the level of 9,900.

The rupee opened at 64.07 per USD on Monday. It ended steady at 64.15 in previous trading session.
 
Asian markets
were mixed in early trade on Monday. Japan’s Nikkei 225 has shed 87 points, while Hong Kong's Hang Seng has surged 144 points and China’s Shanghai Composite has gained 10 points.
